"I Am The Way"...

Dear Friends,
This taped rendition of the little book entitled, "I Am The Way", is not a work of erudition. It is simply a devotion to the sufferings of Christ on His road to Calvary.

It has you, the homebound, in mind, in whatever physical condition you may be. The infirm, especially those near death, are the very ones who can identify most with Christ in His painful sufferings.

The 14 stations are the traditional ones used by Christians for centuries. They start with Jesus being condemned to death until His burial. You may listen to these recordings for as many times as you wish, knowing that you in your actual sufferings can imitate Jesus in the most literal and radical way.

His way of the Cross is also yours. Your cross is also His Cross. You are in the best of company, walking on the surest road to life.

May God's Blessing be upon you...

First and foremost, we thank our precious God and Savior for allowing this project to move forward. I am convinced the Power of God's Holy Spirit is the driving force behind every single song. Through prayer intervention and faith, I believe everything Holy and Sacred is possible. I believe some special Angels in Heaven must be pulling some Holy guitar strings for us. (Thank you Adriana Lucero and others in Heaven). This CD project is high spirited and even though it was geared towards the youth of our Parishes, the younger and older members of many Parishes also enjoy the movement in this Album.

Songs “Shout! Praise!”, “Glory, Praise, Worship and Love”, “Seek his Gates”, “Set Us Free” and “We’re On Fire For You Lord” are Worship and Praise songs that can used for youth and young adult retreats. Song “Sing Praises to the Lord” comes from Isaiah 12:2-3. Song “New Jerusalem” comes from Baruch 5. Song “Be Merciful Oh Lord” comes from Psalm 51:3-6, 12-13, 14, and 17. Song “Christ on the Cross” comes from Psalm 103, 104. Song “We Praise the Lord” comes from Psalm 27:1, 7-9, and 13-14. These songs have been used for Liturgical celebrations and Retreats.

I am very grateful to our family, friends, musicians and vocalists who helped make this collection of music possible. Thanks to Most Holy Trinity Parish and it’s wonderful and powerful Life Teen Youth for allowing Family Spirit Music Ministry to be part of your Eucharistic Celebrations each Sunday. Thanks to Werner Meyers, Father Joshua Alvero, Fr Roberto Corral and Pascual for their support. A special thanks to one of the best producers in town, Bryan Kuban, for all his hard devotional work on this project and future projects.

I want to thank my family for all their support including my children, Chris and Elizabeth. Most of all, thanks to my wife, Mary who is always in my corner, who has believed in my vision, and who has supported me in every conceivable way including being my prayer partner for our family and God's music group.

"Lady Of The Rose" - The title song and CD itself was an attempt to teach non-Catholics that the mother of Jesus is not an idol or a god to worship, but more so to acknowledge her importance to Jesus as His mother. Our God, Himself felt that Jesus' mother was important enough to carry Jesus in her womb to birth, through infancy, adolescence, youth and adulthood. We believe that Jesus wants us to love and Honor His mother as much as He does.

We acknowledge Jesus' mother, Mary, as God's first disciple because she said "Yes" to God. We Christians are Jesus disciples also. Jesus gave us His mother as He was dying on the Cross. Disciple John represents us as Jesus' disciples. Jesus told His Mother, "Behold your Son" (referring to His Disciple John) and to John He said, "Behold your mother", (referring to His mother Mary). After the crucifixion, John took Mary to live in his home. (John 19: 26-27).

This CD project has been used all over the Phoenix and Tucson Diocese in many Faiths based communities, Rosary groups and spiritual community retreats. This CD has a tender flow to it as it meets the needs of all general congregations in all Parishes.
