GROUP BIOGRAPHY

Family Spirit Music Ministry began in 1989 with George Gonzalez on the guitar and vocals, Mary Gonzalez on vocals and Christopher Gonzalez on Keyboard and vocals. They were a church trio that provided service music each Sunday at St. Matthew's Church in Phoenix, Arizona. There have been many others who have joined this group and left after many years of service. However, some of those who are currently in this group have been part of this ministry for up to nine years. Most of the core musicians have been around since 1998.
The early Family Spirit Music Ministry began singing general typical church hymns of the times, however began moving towards new and more contemporary rock music. The first CD "Lady Of The Rose" was completed in 1998. This project was more devotional and light worship music. Family Spirit Music has grown over the years as has the music they provide. This ministry now shares music from all ages, Christian faiths, languages and styles. This concert music is refreshing to all Christian brothers & sisters in Christ. All the songs in our new CD, "Shout! Praise!" are examples of patience, new ideas, out-of-the-box thinking, prayer and spiritual guidance. This music covers all the spectrums from easy listening to rock contemporary. There is something for everyone.
On July 28, 2004, Song Number 7 on the "Shout! Praise!" album, called "Christ On The Cross," was featured on the Makeshift Records Crash Compilation Volume I CD. This CD through Makeshift Records will be sold at various Christian book and music stores on a national and local level. This compilation CD will also be featured at national and local radio stations. Catholic Music Network in Irondale, Alabama is currently in the process of adding our group to their National and International music organization and distribution productions.
Family Spirit Music is currently working on a third CD project to be released in 2007 called, “He Resurrected”. This will be another high energy Christian project for all to enjoy.
God has even allowed this music group to participate in major secular music events, "P.F. Changs Rock n' Roll Marathon" in January 2004, 2005 and 2006. In 2004, Family Spirit Music was the only Christian music group selected from 475 entries to provide high energy Christian music on one of the 40 stages available for the event. In 2005 and 2006, Family Spirit Music was one of three Christian music groups selected for the PF Changs Rock n’ Roll Marathon. God Rocks! There were as many as 25 to 30 thousand people who heard God's music and experienced His presence even in these major secular events. We also participated in the “2005 and 2006 Fiesta for Jesus” music festival prior to the Fiesta Bowl in Tempe, AZ.
Family Spirit Music is always scheduling concerts at various Christian churches in the Phoenix, Tucson and Northern Arizona areas, (See the attached past and present schedules).
Accomplish for the future: As Artists and composers we would love to continue to compose new contemporary Christian music by utilizing the current trends in this music arena. Developing Christian music outside the current styles is also a goal of the group. Our goal is to share God’s love with others through music concerts at various venues. Family Spirit Music now has its own recording studio called “Family Spirit Music Rock For Jesus Recording Studio”. …… Amen!
